Park Locking Arrangements

Background

Cardiff Council Parks Department has launched a Park Locking Arrangements Consultation for Roath Park, Roath Pleasure Gardens and Parc Cefn Onn and invite local residents to have their say.

Prior to the pandemic, these parks would be unlocked each morning from 7.30am and locking would start 30 minutes before sunset. In the winter, this resulted in the park closing from 3.30pm.

During the pandemic, the locking of the parks was suspended to allow access over a longer time period, helping to support physical and mental well-being.

As we emerge from the pandemic, we are keen to hear from you on whether the parks should remain unlocked or revert to locking arrangements.
