Cardiff Riding School
Set in 35 acres of park land in the centre of Cardiff, we provide a total riding experience for all abilities, lessons, pony club, riding for the disabled and so much more.

What’s on offer

- We are an approved centre for the Pony Club.
- We are an approved Riding for the Disabled Association centre.
- We offer pre booked ‘Pony Rides’ on the weekend between 10am and 12.30pm for 3 to 13 year olds, for £7.60 Perfect for first timers and getting little ones into riding. They are roughly 15 minute walks on the lead rein, which are outdoors in all weathers (so dress accordingly).

- We have a weight limit of 12 stone or 76 kg. (Dressed to ride)
- Lessons and rides can be booked and paid for over the phone or in person before you ride.
Booking
- Lessons can be booked over the phone or in person, they must be paid for when booking.
- We accept card payments only
- We have a 48hr cancellation period. Less than 48hrs notice of cancellation are non-refundable.
- Pre-paid vouchers are available (perfect for presents!).
Pony rides
Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 12.30pm
£7.90 Children between 3years and 13years old
All rides can be booked over the phone or in person and must be paid for when booking.
Rides are always outside so please dress for the weather.
Private lessons
£33.85 for 30 minutes and £47.50 for 60 minutes.

Children’s birthday parties
At Cardiff Riding School we can offer your children a lovely Pony party experience.
Parties can be booked for a Saturday or Sunday for children aged 6+. They run from 12.30pm to 3.00pm. (We advise arriving early to allow time to fit hats and boots.)
Our Pony parties are priced at £260 for 10 children. All parties are supervised by our trained staff. No riding experience is necessary.
The Pony Party experience starts with meeting our lovely ponies and helping to get them ready to ride. Each group of children ride for half an hour . The children will also take part in pony related activities to complete the party experience.
Our party stable will be available for your sole use. During the party there is a half hour break for lunch. Food is not provided by us as we don’t hold a food licence.
All children to wear stretchy trousers, and clothing suitable for the weather. Footwear has to be a boot or shoe with a flat sole and small heel. No zips on the inside. No open toes shoes are allowed on the yard.

- Clients should arrive 20 minutes prior to lesson time and report to the reception. (Allowing for heavy traffic at peak times as late arrivals may not be catered for and no refunds would be given)
- Only riding hats that are of the current BHS safety standard can be worn. You can hire these from our reception. We will ask you to wear a mask for hat fitting.
- Correct foot wear must be worn, which is a smooth sole and a small heel. No buckles or zips on the inside of the footwear. We have some boots you can borrow but cannot promise we will have your size.
- Lessons can be booked over the phone and in person and must be paid for when booking.
- Staff are always happy to help.
- No open toes shoes on the yard at any time.

Ponies and horses will be tacked up by staff unless the rider is happy to do so. Grade 3 riders are expected to lead horses in to the indoor school. Riders will be asked to untack and rug horses if required.
Grade 3+

Thursday: 7.00pm
Saturday: 9.30am and 2.00pm
Sunday: 12.00pm
Riders at Grade 3+ are expected to tack up their own horse, untack after the lesson and rug if required.
Grade 4
60 minutes £25.80 weekdays and £26.50 weekends
Tuesday: 7.00pm
Wednesday: 7.00pm
Grade 4 riders are expected to tack up their own horse, untack after the lesson and rug if required.
Visiting us
We are closed on Mondays.
Tuesday – Friday: 9am to 8pm
Saturday – Sunday: 9am – 4:30pm
Private lessons are generally daytime on week days with some opportunities on weekends.
Group lessons are mostly week day evenings and weekend day times.
