Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Forest Farm Conservation Centre
Spring is an excellent time to see queen bumblebees, many of which have recently emerged from hibernation and are starting to establish their nests. Join Liam Olds, Conservation Officer at Buglife Cymru, at Forest Farm Country Park as we look for bumblebees and discuss their identification and ecology. A guided walk around Forest Farm will allow you to see different bumblebee species and get familiar with their identification features. This workshop will also discuss how to record and monitor bumblebees, including submitting records to your Local Environmental Record Centre and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s BeeWalk monitoring scheme.
This event is being delivered as part of Cardiff Council’s ‘No Net Loss’ project, funded by Network Rail.
